Blue and cream wool and cotton Jacquard Coverlet, dated “1856” in corner blocks. Fringe on bottom only, all intact. This Indiana coverlet was woven by the Scottish born Muir Family. William and Thomas Muir were weaving in Indianapolis, Indiana from 1850-1858, so this is likely their work. Condition is clean and excellent, probably made and put away. Queen size 78″ X 90″. OVERSHOT “EAGLES” COVERLET

Overshot Coverlet in red and cream, last half of 19th century. Woven on a loom in wool and cotton. The coverlet is reversible to use as a winter/summer spread. First two close ups show the different colorations. Fringe intact on three sides with the pillow end never having had fringe. Eagles are positioned in each of the four corners. Floral , leaf and geometric designs fill the center and borders. Shown on a double bed the size is 76″ X 94″. Excellent condition. Stock #19090 SOLD.
