WINDMILL BLADES

Windmill Blades antique quilt circa 1880. Popular indigo blue print on a white background. An unusual leaf border has been appliqued on three sides. ( the pillow end was frequently not done since it would not show) Crossed leaves form corner blocks. I love the way the rows of leaves were joined at the bottom of the quilt so it would show on the foot end of the bed. Quilt has been professionally laundered so it is crisp and sparkling clean. The hand quilting really stands out on this one, with flowers and cross hatch stitching at 8 stitches to the inch. The flying geese edges to the windmill blades give added beauty. “Geese In The Pond” vintage quilt circa 1980. Blue calico print on white background. This is a summer weight quilt with a blue binding and no batting. Absolutely gorgeous “Oak Leaf and Reel” antique applique quilt, circa 1880. Dark indigo blue print on white background. ‘Nine Patch’ corner blocks and triple sashing frame each Oak Leaf. I love the pillow treatment at the top of the quilt. Hand quilted with diagonal straight line quilting, close together, at 7 stitches to the inch. The Nine Patch blocks have tiny postage stamp size pieces. Justs washed, the quilt is crisp and clean. Full size 82″ X 70″ . Price $1485. Stock #19512
